"We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
If a man's gift is prophesying,
let him use it in proportion to his faith.
If it is serving, let him serve;
if it is teaching, let him teach;
if it is encouraging, let him encourage;
if it is contributing to the needs of others,
let him give generously;
if it is leadership, let him govern diligently;
if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully."
Romans 12:6-8

Bishop Goes To Latin America

    As the Suffragan to the Archbishop for Latin America, Bishop +Simmons and his executive administrative assistant, Fr. Chamberlin+, will make their second trip to Latin America. Last year, along with their wives, made a missionary visit to the diocese in Chili and Columbia. This year, in May, they will take their missionary journey to Argentina and Uruguay.
    They will visit Fr. Mauro+ in Buenos Aires, Maria Montenegro in the Corrientes Province (NE) and Fr. Luis+ in Montevideo.
    "This visit is expected to reinforce our relationship with the clergy and laity of Argentina and Uruguay by strengthen the spiritual and ecclesiastical bonds between us; reaffirm the clergy and laity in their respective ministerial callings; enable us to access their needs; allow us to be involved in vision-forecasting; and help us to get to know them better so we can better serve them in Christ's Name", said Bishop +Simmons.
    "What's next", I asked Bishop +Simmons.
    "Our next trip will include my wife deaconess Maria+, my executive administrative assistant and his wife sister Doris, and deacon Len Gavin and his wife sister Vickie. Archbishop ++Mark Camp and several priests from other diocese in our province".
    "Will the mission trip have the same objectives as the one in May"?
    "Well yes, to a certain degree, mainly we will be in conference with clergy and laity who are members of our province throughout Latin America. It will probably include some ordinations and Christian fellowship," the Bishop responded."
    "Sounds like a great vacation!" I interjected.
    "These are not vacations", the Bishop retorted "They are business trips, the business of fulfilling the Gospel message. We are on a mission to fulfill 'The Great Commission' as set down by Jesus in Matthew 28:19,20.

 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you'."
